Mario Batali Garden to Take Root

Mario Batali’s Edible Garden will make its big debut at the New York Botanical Garden this spring with the star chef’s favorite ingredients. Batali will attend an April 12 ceremony at the Botanical Garden to celebrate the start of the gardening season.

He will be joined by students from the Bronx as he prepares gardening beds and plants vegetables. The celebrity chef’s garden will be open on Aug. 27 and run through Sept. 25.  Visitors will be able to see cooking demonstrations and learn children-friendly recipes using ingredients grown in the botanical garden.
